    2. Tin can ghost windsock

Another craft that the kids will enjoy making and that you can proudly hang inside or outside for Halloween.

There is a bit of wait time involved with this one as you have to wait for the paint to dry before you finish the final project. But while waiting you can start cutting the ribbon for the bottom so long.

    3. Yarn wrapped mummy

    How cute is this mummy?

Have your kids draw and cut out a basic gingerbread man-like shape from cardboard. This can either be black cardboard or any color which they can then paint black.

Then just glue the eyes to the mummy and start wrapping the mummy with yarn. Glue or tape the end of the yarn to the back of the mummy for easier wrapping.

    4. Clothespin bats

For these clothespin bats, paint the clothespins black using acrylic paint and let them dry.

Fold over a small tab on the inner edge of each batwing (like shown in the picture) and glue them to the sides of the clothespin.

    5. Halloween monsters

Amy shows how you can make various Halloween monsters from empty pill bottles. If you don’t have this, I think this would also work perfectly with toilet paper rolls.

    6. Halloween spider slime

Is Halloween really complete without Halloween slime? I think not!

This slime is very easy to make with only a couple of ingredients. Let the kids help you by mixing the ingredients and kneading the sticky mixture until it is proper slime.

This recipe makes a big bucket so there should be enough slime to play with for 3-4 kids.

    7. Halloween ghost bombs

If you don’t mind a bit of a mess outside, these ghost bombs are the bomb (ha)!

    9. Cardboard box spiders

These cardboard-box spiders are really cheap and easy to make with items you probably already have in your house!

    10. Toilet roll bats

These toilet roll bats are really simple and quick to make (aside from waiting for paint to dry) and will only take you about 5 minutes to do.

20 Easy Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas For The Perfect Spooky Treat

    1. Halloween Ghost Cupcakes

Okay, let’s start with a super simple and easy one – ghost cupcakes!

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Halloween Ghost CupcakesFound from everydaysouthwest.com

    2. Monster Cupcakes

Another really easy one to do. All you need is frosting of different colors and some candy eyes and you’re set!

Would be a hit at any kids party!

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Monster CupcakesFound from lifewiththecrustcutoff.com

    3. Spider Cupcakes

There are a lot of ideas for spider cupcakes but I found this to be one of the easiest to do.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Spider CupcakesFound from texanerin.com

    4. Dirt Worm Cupcakes

The early bird gets the worm with these creepy crawly dirt worm cupcakes! Super easy to do with Orea crumbs and gummy worms.

The author used plastic spider rings for added effect but I’d leave them off or look for edible spiders if you’re afraid of the choking hazard.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Dirt CupcakesFound from lmld.org

    5. Brains Cupcakes

These brains cupcakes would be great for any sort of zombie party for Halloween. Or for anyone who likes their cake just as much as the “Ewww” factor.

If you don’t like the bloody organ look, these brains are probably not your cup of cake.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Brains CupcakesFound from thesimple-sweetlife.com

    6. Witches’ Brew Cupcakes

I’m not sure exactly what makes up a witch’s brew, but there are all sorts of bubbly witchy brewy things going on in this cupcake!

    Worth a taste I think!

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Witches Brew CupcakesFound from houseofyumm.com

    7. Brownie Cupcakes

Okay these cupcakes aren’t really scary or anything, but they’re still perfect for Halloween with the orange and chocolate!

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Brownie CupcakesFound from twosisterscrafting.com

    8. Marshmallow Spider Web Cupcake

These spider web cupcakes are so creative and unique!

It can be a bit on the sticky side as you’ll have to melt the marshmallow and use your fingers to stretch and wrap the gooey mixture around the cupcakes. But the end result is so worth it and will be a big hit with everyone!

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Marshmallow Web CupcakeFound from handmadecharlotte.com

    9. Frankenstein Cupcakes

These are probably more cute than scary, but I love it!

Easy to decorate with sprinkles, Tootsie Rolls, white melts and M&M’s for the eyes. Use brown M&M’s for the pupils for a cute look, or red ones for a more scary look!

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Frankenstein CupcakesFound from yourcupofcake.com

    10. Tombstone Cupcakes

These tombstone cupcakes use Milano cookies dipped in chocolate for the tombstone and crushed Orea cookies for the dirt piles around the tombstones.

You can use melted white chocolate to pipe the word “RIP” onto each cookie.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Tombstone CupcakesFound from yourcupofcake.com

    11. Broken Glass Cupcakes

I would call these Dexter cupcakes, but I guess they bear the markings of all sorts of horror movies.

Anyway, these are red velvet cupcakes (yum!) with glass candy and edible blood made from condensed milk!

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Broken Glass CupcakesFound from easybaked.net

    12. Monster Claw Cupcakes

There are two versions of this cupcake, the silly version (pictured below) and a scary version (click the link below if you want to see).

It’s also really easy to make these – you roll your claws with marshmallow fondant (you can use marzipan too). And to get the fuzzy ‘fur’ the author simply used a grass tip for the frosting.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Monster Claw CupcakesFound from bakingdom.com

    13. Candy Corn Cupcakes

Moving away from the scary cupcakes to something a bit more on the cute side, these candy corn cupcakes are adorable!

You’ll need 3 different shades of frosting – the author used white, yellow and orange buttercream.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Candy Corn CupcakesFound from midgetmomma.com

    14. Witch’s Hat Cupcakes

These witch hat cupcakes are really festive and fun and will be a hit at any Halloween event.

All you need is some green frosting for the base, chocolate wafer cookies and sugar cones, melted chocolate and tinted frosting for decorating the ‘hat’.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Witch Hat CupcakesFound from thecraftingfoodie.com

    15. Cauldron Cupcakes

Okay, it might look deceiving, but the cauldrons, in this case, is actually just silicone cauldrons that you serve the cupcakes in. I initially thought it was perhaps made or marzipan or something, but that would be too much effort for me anyway!

It’s still a really cool idea for a Halloween party though!

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Cauldron CupcakesFound from apumpkinandaprincess.com

    16. Black Cat Cupcakes

These black cat cupcakes are all chocolaty goodness and still perfectly fit for Halloween.

The ears and whiskers are cut out from chocolate taffy (could also use a Tootsie Roll) and the eyes are made with fondant but you could also just use yellow M&M’s.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Black Cat CupcakesFound from onelittleproject.com

    17. Mummy Cupcake

These mummy cupcakes are a spooky but fun treat that kids and adults alike will love!

For the frosting, you’ll need a flat tip to create the mummy look by weaving back and forth and just leaving a small space for the eyes. The author shows you very well how to do this.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Mummy CupcakeFound from frugalmomeh.com

    18. Skeleton Cupcakes

When first looking at this cupcake you might think that it’s difficult to make or too much work, but it’s really not!

The ribs and arms are simply yogurt mini pretzels and the head is a marshmallow stuck on a lollipop stick. Because it looks more difficult to make than it really is – these are sure to impress family and friends!

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Skeleton CupcakesFound from womansday.com

    19. Spider Web Cupcakes

If you’re looking for something Halloweeny but don’t want to go cute or scary necessary, these spider web cupcakes fit the theme very well!

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Ideas: Spider Web CupcakesFound from countryliving.com

    20. Halloween Bat Cupcakes

No collection of Halloween cupcakes would be complete without some sort of bat cupcake!

I found these ones to be really cute and easy to make with mini Oreos for the body and round wafer cookies broken in half for the wings!

The eyes are just white chocolate chips with chocolate pips stuck to the back (flat) side of the chocolate chips.

Patriotic 4th Of July Decorations And Crafts

There are many crafts you can make to decorate your home for the 4th of July that won’t require you to spend a lot of money.

From paper garlands to candles to patriotic wreaths, I hope this list will inspire you and give you some ideas of how you can decorate your home to celebrate America.

    1. Paper Star Garland

This paper star garland is available from Etsy but is easy and simple enough to make yourself.

You just need some paper stars and some string, then you can sew the string through the stars. You could also glue two stars together around the string to get the same result.

    2. Patriotic Clothespin Wreath

If you’re looking to make a wreath for your door for Independence Day, this one is really easy to do and only requires a few supplies.

    3. Patriotic Paper Chain

    4. Painted Lawn Stars

Okay, this is not really decor per say, but I think this is such a creative idea if you’re hosting a 4th of July party or barbecue and have a big lawn. It will really add to the fun and excitement of an Independence Day celebration.

The paint the author used is construction marking paint intended for grass which you can find at any home improvement store. The paint will NOT kill the grass but it is permanent. This means you will only get it off by letting the grass grow out and then mowing it off (worth it in my opinion).

    5. Star Candles

If you’ve got some plain white candles you can turn them into these star candles for minimalist Independence Day decorations.

Just get some blue and red star stickers and white candles and you’re good to go!

4th Of July Decorations: Star CandlesFound from Good Housekeeping

    6. American Flag Pillow

To create this flag pillow, the author used an old sweater with an embroidered American flag and turned it into this cute pillow cover.

You can also recreate this look with a blank white pillow by sewing or by gluing a small American flag onto the pillow.

4th Of July Decorations: American Flag PillowFound from Thrifty Decor Chick

    7. American Flag Mason Jars

Adding some 4th of July spirit to your home can be as easy as jazzing up a couple of mason jars!

You can paint your mason jars or just add the American flag to them and then use them however you like. I would put flowers in them!

4th Of July Decorations: American Flag Mason JarsFound from Our Unexpected Journey

    8. Pallet Flag

With some paint and a wooden pallet, you can easily recreate this wooden pallet flag for your front porch.

Of course, you don’t necessarily have to use a large pallet to do this. You can also do something similar with a smaller pallet and hang it on your door or wall for some 4th of July decorations.

4th Of July Decorations: Pallet FlagFound from Saving By Design

    9. Easy Patriotic Centerpiece

You can make this celebratory 4th of July centerpiece in a couple of minutes once you have all the items. You just need a mason jar, some rice, a couple of star picks and small flags to create this centerpiece.

4th Of July Decorations: Easy Patriotic CenterpieceFound from Tidy Mom
